Summary

The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (UNESCO-IOC), in cooperation with the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) organized for oceanographic and hydrographic institutions in Spanish speaking countries a technical training course on sea level and tides. The training provided participants with information on equipment for collecting water level observations, station operation and maintenance, and the use of data to support maritime trade applications as well as to contribute to early warning systems and climate change applications. The training was held at the Hotel Punta Leona, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica, from 13 to 17 November 2023.
