Building Ocean Literacy Partnerships: Highlights from the Caribbean Partners Webinar

On September 16, the Caribbean Blue Schools Network hosted its first Partners Webinar, bringing together 262 participants from across the region and beyond. The event featured 15 partner presentations, showcasing a wide range of initiatives that contribute to advancing Ocean Literacy (OL) in schools and communities. Partners offered resources ranging from open educational materials and citizen science projects to youth-led advocacy, creative cultural initiatives, and teacher training opportunities.

The webinar highlighted the importance of conducting a regional assessment of OL efforts, as many organizations are already implementing projects that can be connected and scaled through collaboration. By mapping these initiatives and linking them to the Blue Schools framework, the Network will continue to support coordinators and teachers with practical tools and partnerships that bring OL directly into classrooms.

We invite you to watch the full recording, explore the agenda, and learn more about the amazing projects shared by our partners. This successful gathering is only the beginning of building stronger connections between organizations and schools, creating long-term collaborations that will strengthen Ocean Literacy and empower Blue Schools across the Caribbean.
