SINT MAARTEN

Sint Maarten together with Saint Martin shares a single island in the Caribbean. While Saint Martin, 53 square kilometers and the French division of the island, Sint Maarten is the territory of the Netherlands with 34 square kilometers and a population of 37, 429 (2010). The two countries share an island under the Treaty of Concord and have in common the status of a major tourist attraction and a natural salt resource. Dutch is the official language of Sint Maarten but English and Spanish are also spoken in the country.
