South China Sea Region Tsunami Ready Related Training Course (online)

Resumen

In alignment with the theme of the 2025 World Tsunami Awareness Day “Be Tsunami Ready: Invest in Tsunami Preparedness” and the UN Ocean Decade Goal of “100% of communities at risk of tsunami prepared for and resilient to tsunamis by 2030”, the Task Team on Capacity Development and Services (TT-CDS) of the Regional Working Group on Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System for the South China Sea Region (WG-SCS) will host a two half-day South China Sea Region Tsunami Ready Related Training Course online from 0600 to 0930 UTC on 22 and 23 December 2025. 

The online course will include the key components of Tsunami Ready indicators in respect of assessment, preparedness and response including identification of tsunami sources in the South China Sea region, tsunami hazard assessment, Tsunami Ready tools and the application process for the Tsunami Ready Recognition. There will also be sharing from some Member States in the South China Sea region on Tsunami Ready implementation experience and plans.
