NETHERLANDS
Location
The Caribbean Netherlands comprises a series of islands that are part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Bonaire
Location: North of Venezuela, part of the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao).
Capital: Kralendijk.
Politics: Bonaire is a special municipality of the Netherlands, directly administered by the Dutch government. It does not have an autonomous government.
Economy: The economy is focused on tourism, especially ecotourism and diving. Salt production and energy generation are also important.
Sint Maarten
Location: Part of the island of Saint Martin, in the northern Caribbean, near Anguilla.
Capital: Philipsburg.
Politics: Sint Maarten is an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, with its own government. The Kingdom handles defense and foreign relations.
Economy: The economy is primarily driven by tourism, which constitutes the majority of its GDP. There is also a significant financial and commercial sector.
Sint Eustatius
Location: Southeast of Sint Maarten, in the Caribbean.
Capital: Oranjestad.
Politics: Sint Eustatius is a special municipality of the Netherlands, directly administered by the Dutch government.
Economy: The economy is small and is based on tourism, agriculture, and fishing.
Saba
Location: Southeast of Sint Eustatius, in the Caribbean.
Capital: The Bottom.
Politics: Saba is also a special municipality of the Netherlands, administered by the Dutch government.
Economy: The economy is based on tourism, especially ecotourism and diving, along with agriculture and fishing.
