Capacity Development and Stakeholder Engagement in IOCARIBE

Exciting progress is being made as IOCARIBE continues to strengthen ocean science and sustainable development across the Tropical Americas and Caribbean regions:

✅ Key Initiatives:

  • Launching a Blue Schools Network to inspire the next generation of ocean advocates, with coordinator training beginning in January 2025. 🌊📚
  • Expanding support for Venezuela, Cuba, Trinidad & Tobago, Dominican Republic, and Colombia through targeted marine spatial planning (MSP) initiatives.

🤝 Stakeholder Engagement Highlights:

  • A strengthened focus on inclusive collaboration, engaging governments, local communities, early-career professionals, and indigenous groups.
  • Enhanced partnerships through the TAC Ocean Decade Task Force, connecting stakeholders from diverse sectors to co-design innovative ocean solutions.
