Ocean Decade: Second Foundations Dialogue
01 - 03
Résumé
The importance of the philanthropic community to achieving the ambitions of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Decade for Sustainable Development ('Ocean Decade') cannot be overstated. As catalysts, conveners and risk-takers, philanthropic Foundations have been at the forefront of exploring emerging research areas and fostering collaborations amongst diverse partners that have the potential to generate and disseminate the transformational knowledge and scientific capacity needed to address the Ocean Decade Challenges.
To further galzanise foundations from around the world behind the Ocean Decade, the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO is convening the Second Foundations Dialogue Meeting at the Hassan II International Center for Environmental Training in Sidi Bouknadel, Morocco, from 1-3 June 2022.
Hosted by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, the meeting presents a unique opportunity to discuss how to enhance the role of philanthropic community in co-designing the science we need and then making it available to key stakeholders in order to drive the actions necessary to support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
