Technical Coordination Meeting on Tsunami Preparedness in Pakistan

NDMA Pakistan, ESCAP and UNESCO-IOC convened a technical coordination meeting to strengthen collaboration on coastal disaster preparedness and early warning systems. The discussion reviewed progress under the ESCAP-funded project Strengthening Tsunami Early Warning in the North-West Indian Ocean Region through Regional Cooperation, including support for Tsunami Ready implementation in Gwadar and Karachi, and explored opportunities to advance community preparedness, institutional coordination and multi-hazard resilience across Pakistan's coastline.
