IOCAFRICA regional workshop

Résumé

The workshop will inform the formal RSC session on the regional workplan and budget and generate African regional perspectives for Phase 3 of the IOC and the Future of the Ocean consultation, which will contribute to the next IOC Medium-Term Strategy. The workshop will be run as a working session rather than a reporting meeting: reporting will be concise, while most of the time will be devoted to facilitated discussions that translate lessons learned into practical priorities, partnerships, resource needs and strategic inputs.

The workshop will use a blended format consisting of opening and scene-setting presentations, short reporting updates, a dedicated 30-minute session on IOC and the Future of the Ocean, a one-hour partner segment, and two facilitated group discussion rounds. The structure is deliberately designed to minimize passive reporting and maximize interactive discussion.
