IOCARIBE Capacity Development Working Group meeting

Résumé

The IOCARIBE Capacity Development Working Group meeting will provide a space to review ongoing regional capacity development efforts and align them with the IOC Capacity Development Programme, the updated Terms of Reference of the Working Group, the six elements of the IOC Capacity Development Strategy 2023–2030, and the High-Level Objectives of the new IOC Results Framework. The meeting will also include updates from the IOCARIBE Capacity Development Task Teams on Ocean Literacy, Marine Spatial Planning, and Deep Sea Research and BBNJ, as well as capacity development contributions from IOCARIBE Working Groups on Harmful Algal Blooms, GOOS, and Sargassum. In addition, participants will discuss funding mobilization efforts, including the Ocean Connector platform, a funding mobilization plan, proposal concepts based on Member State requests from SC-IOCARIBE-XVIII, and the preparation of a draft recommendation for the 2028–2029 Workplan and Budget to be presented at SC-IOCARIBE-XIX.
