This onsite training course will introduce the cutting-edge strategies, methods and tools on sea level rise and climate change research at global and regional levels, share experience in combating climate change and sea level rise and application in China and the Southeast Asian region, inspire discussion on the role of climate change in realizing the sustainable development goals for the ocean.

Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, the participants should be able to:

Improve knowledge of the status and trends of international climate change.

Better understand the scientific mechanisms of sea level rise and grasp the cause and effect relationship between climate change and sea level rise.

Improve skills in designing framework balancing ecological protection and economic development.
Target audience & requisites
The course is focused on: (1) Research personnel (those who are engaging in ocean science and ocean management research in universities or research institutes for more than 2 years, and have a bachelor degree or higher), and (2) Government employees (those who are engaging in ocean science research and/or ocean management for government for more than 2 years, and have a bachelor degree or higher).
